Abstract. The problems of design of modern automated control systems (ACS) of coal-preparation plants by the example of the factory "Kaltanskaya-Energeticheskaya" (City of Kaltan, Kemerovo region, Russia) have been offered. The description of the functional and technical structures of the ACS have been identified. Used basic software, developed dataware, as well as the ACS operation modes have been described.
