Contests and competitions

The Department of Machinery Design Bases traditionally holds the contest in descriptive geometry and computer 2D and 3D modeling for the first-year students. The competition is held twice a year: at the end of the winter semester and in spring and being the first stage of the Ukrainian national contest.

The competitions of students’ annual projects on the theory of mechanisms and machines and machine parts are also held. The winners of these competitions take part in national contests.

The high level of teaching at the Department is proved by students� performance at the international contests. For example in 2010 our student S.Fedoryachenko took the first place at the Ukrainian Student Contest on Engineering and Computer Graphics.�

In the same year K.Maksimenko, 4-year student, won the scholarship provided by the national program of talented youth support “Zavtra.UA”. She fulfilled her project under the supervision of Department�s associate professor G.Vanzha.

The students of the department several times became the winners of the international contest �Aces of Computer 3D Modeling-2010� held by the Russian software company ASKON.

In 2010 S.Fedoryachenko took part in the contest. His project made under the supervision of Department�s associate professor V.Protsiv took the 3^rd place in the category of most complicated projects containing more than 1000 parts. In 2011 A.Bondarev took the first place with the project �Transmission front wheel drive car� consisting of 135 parts. Project supervisor – V.Protsiv.

The team of teachers and students was also awarded by the Diploma for successful usage of COMPAS Software in scientific and technical design for the project entitled �Kangu Electrocar 111�

Due to such contests and competitions that Department holds or participates in our students have the possibility to show their experience and creativity skills, to get recognition.

The Department of Machinery Design Bases aims to promote the engineering professions, to introduce modern information technology in education and to support talented youth.
