The following courses are taught at the Department:

1. Descriptive Geometry

Descriptive Geometry is the obligatory course for the Bachelor Degree in Geodesy, Cartography and Land Management.

The course provides theoretical knowledge of descriptive geometry by learning the design methods of point, line, plane surfaces and visual depiction of objects. The general rules of geometric and projection design, drawings and sketches are studied by the students. The study process is conducted using the AutoCAD software. The learning outcomes include the skills of spatial objects and visual images design using both traditional and computer methods.

2. Engineering Graphics.

Engineering Graphics is the obligatory course for the Bachelor Degree in Construction.

The course studies the spatial objects design that is the fundamentals of engineering drawing. Throughout the course students get knowledge in the general methods of geometric objects depiction; they learn to investigate the geometric properties of the objects, to perform drafting and develop the design documents. These skills are necessary for the bachelors of engineering fields whose future work is connected with development of design documents that should comply with the production needs.

3. Engineering and Computer Graphics.

The course studies the spatial objects design that is the fundamentals of engineering drawing. Throughout the course students get knowledge in the general methods of geometric objects depiction; they learn to investigate the geometric properties of the objects, to perform drafting and develop the design documents. These skills are necessary for the bachelors of technical programs whose future work is connected with development of design documents that should comply with the production needs.

Engineering and Computer Graphics is the obligatory course for the Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Programming, Telecommucations, Information Security.

The course framework students learn to make technical drawings, schemes and other design documents using both traditional methods and methods of computer 2D and 3D modeling with help of vector graphics software.

4. Descriptive Geometry and Engineering Graphics.

Descriptive Geometry and Engineering Graphicsis the obligatory course for the Bachelor Degree in Mining.

The aim of course is to reveal the modern scientific concepts, notions, methods and technologies of geometric modeling of technical and nature objects in form of drawings and other design documentation.

This is theoretical course that shapes the general knowledge profile of the specialist in Mining.

The course provides theoretical knowledge of descriptive geometry by learning the design methods of point, line, plane surfaces and visual depiction of objects. Students learn the rules of geometric and projective drawing, how to fulfill drawings and sketches using KOMPAS 3D software. The learning outcomes include the skills in reading and understanding technical drawings, and skills in drafting using both traditional methods and special software.

5. Applied and Computer Graphics.

Applied and Computer Graphics is the obligatory course for the Bachelor Degree in Mineral Processing.

The course provides knowledge in using the modern drafting software. The systems of 3D modeling for the design of both separate parts and complete mechanisms are studied. The knowledge of this course helps to substantially reduce the time necessary to design the engineering mechanism.

6. Theory of Mechanisms and Machines.

Theory of Mechanisms and Machines is the obligatory course for the Bachelor Degree in Machine Building.

Mechanisms and Machines are the compulsory part of production of any kind. The job responsibilities of Engineer in Machine Building are connected with the wide spectrum of various machines and mechanisms. Despite of the appearance and functions a number of mechanisms can be united depending on its structure.

The learning outcomes include the skills in analysis and synthesis of machines and mechanisms. These skills are the basics for the understanding of the professionally-oriented machines and mechanisms and the methods of their calculation.

7. Machine Parts.

Machine Parts course devoted to the operation principles, calculation and design of the mechanisms of general use. Students study kinematic calculations, calculations for strength and rigidity, design methods and the rational choice of materials. The course allows learning the methods, rules and design standards to ensure reliable and efficient production of machines and mechanisms; performing drafting of machine parts using the modern software technologies. These skills are necessary for the bachelors of engineering fields whose future work is connected with development of design documents that should comply with the production needs.

8. Machine Parts and Handling Equipment.

Machine Parts and Handling Equipment is the obligatory course for the Bachelor Degree in Automotive Transport.

The course devoted to the operation principles, calculation and design of the mechanisms of general use. Students study kinematic calculations, calculations for strength and rigidity, design methods and the rational choice of materials. After the completion of the course students know the rules, methods and standards of drafting that allows producing reliable and cost-efficient mechanisms and handling equipment.

9. Informatics.

Informatics is the obligatory course for the Bachelor Degree in Automotive Transport.

The course is aimed at ensuring the fundamental training in human-computer interaction, software architecture of information systems and mathematical and logical tools used in information sciences.

10. Information and communication technologies for scientific papers presentation.
